Gianmaria Testa Award, the call for the fifth edition is open

City of Moncalieri and Circolo Culturale Saturnio in collaboration with Produzioni Fuorivia present the Gianmaria Testa Award – Words and Music, a special section of the historic International Literary Award City of Moncalieri.

The call open until 31 January 2025 is aimed at songwriters under 38 of any nationality. Artists will be able to present one or two original songs, which are unpublished or published no more than six months ago. The five finalists, selected by a jury, will have the opportunity to perform live on 9 March 2025 at the Fonderie Teatrali Limone in Moncalieri. During the evening they will not only perform their own songs in the competition, but they will pay homage to Gianmaria Testa by performing one of his songs. Among the prizes up for grabs, the overall winner will receive a financial award of 1,500 euros, accompanied by a plaque and a diploma, as well as the possibility of performing in prestigious Piedmontese music festivals. A special prize of 800 euros will be awarded to the best live performance. As further recognition, the finalists’ songs will be collected in an album produced by Incipit Records and Produzioni Fuorivia, distributed by Egea Music.

The jury that will select the talents is made up of prominent figures in music and culture. Presiding over it will be the singer-songwriter Eugenio Bennato, flanked by Alessandra Comazzi, journalist and television critic of La Stampa, Paola Farinetti, wife and producer of Gianmaria Testa, Paolo Lucà director of the Folkclub of Turin, the record producer Stefano Senardi, Fabio Sgaravato artistic director of The Saifam Group, the singer-songwriter Patrizio Trampetti and Sara Potente, artistic director of UNO/Sony Music, Enzo Vizzone, record producer of Egea Music. The artistic direction of _resetfestival will choose among the finalist musical projects who will go on stage at the seventeenth edition of the festival.

The Award evening will be enriched – as per tradition – by the presence and participation of a guest artist who will perform on the same stage as the finalist songwriters. For the fifth edition Stefano Bollani will be on stage together with Valentina Cenni.
