The Pesaro Nuovo Cinema Foundation presents the 62nd edition of the International New Cinema Exhibition, scheduled in Pesaro from 13 to 20 June 2026, with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture – General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual, the Municipality of Pesaro and the Marche Region and with the artistic direction of Pedro Armocida.

Among the numerous events there will also be space for musical themes: there will be a focus on Simone Peluso, a young director and filmmaker whose video clips are standing out in the contemporary Italian music scene, and the return of the “Roads to Nowhere – Sentieri del rock italiano” section after the success of its first edition, continuing the journey through the panorama of Italian rock through a series of evening screenings (including “Una lungo ombra” by Andrea Laszlo De Simone). For a historical and retrospective look, the tribute to Giandomenico Curi will instead give an account of the world of Italian music videos emerging in the 1980s.

Giandomenico Curi is a radio and television author, essayist and film director. After graduating from the Silvio d’Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts, he worked in theatre, but above all in cinema and music. Among his published books, “The French cinema of the Nouvelle Vague”; “I would like to be there (singer-songwriters in Italy)”; “Dalida – The voice and the soul”; “I apologize if I speak of Gaber”; “The frenetics (50 years of cinema and rock)”; “Django Reinhardt – A manouche legend between cinema and jazz”; “‘Il me pais al è colòur smarit’: Pier Paolo Pasolini and Giovanna Marini”. In addition to a remarkable series of music videos (from Venditti to Madness, from Battisti to Skiantos), he directed two films always linked to music: “Ciao ma'” and “Lambada”. Among the many musical documentaries, worth mentioning are ” Quando la banda passa” (on Claudio Baglioni) and “A Sud della musica – La Voce Libera di Giovanna Marini”.
