George Michael: an unreleased film from the 1988 tour is released
More news for George Michael fans, after the recent reissue of “Faith”. An unreleased film is in the works that will revive the singer’s historic 1988 solo tour, the one in support of “Faith” himself. This was announced by George Michael Entertainment. The film will be released in theaters worldwide in collaboration with Mercury Studios and Sony Music Entertainment. The release date has not yet been announced: the film will arrive in cinemas by the end of the year.
The film was shot during the European leg of Michael’s “Faith Tour” at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris in 1988 and captures the singer at a crucial moment in his career, shortly after the release of “Faith”. The footage, assembled from 14 cameras shot on 35mm film over two evenings, has recently been restored and remastered.
“Faith” on the eve of the fortieth anniversary of its publication is back on the market in a new vinyl edition, the first reissue after over ten years. The album, which can be purchased at this link on the Sony Music website, is published in several limited versions: Red & Black Marble, picture disc, double black vinyl with Blu-Ray and CD. The new 10-track marbled 2LP edition includes “I Want Your Sex – Pts. 1, 2 & 3, The Monogamy Mix”.
