Garbage, published the first anticipation by the new album
“There’s no future in Optimism” is the title of the new single published today, April 9, Da Garbage. The song, accompanied by the video shot and directed by Benjy Kirkman, arrives as the first anticipation of the new album of the band led by Shirley Manson, entitled “Let All That We Imagine Be The Light” and arriving on May 30th.
The announcement of the new and eighth study work of the Garbage, the ideal successor of “No Gods no Masters” of 2021 (here our review), had arrived at the end of last February.
The opening of the album is entrusted to the song “There’s no future in optimism”, that Shirley Manson had presented: “I wanted ‘There’s no future in optimism’ to open the album. He begins with a battle call, a declaration of intent. It is an appeal to all the people who think like us: if you want to face this world with love, if you are willing to invest in the tenderness. And in hatred, then we are with you. And again: “I must believe that music and art can still influence culture. I know they continue to have an impact on me: that mysterious power that no government can control or buy. Great music exists in a microcosm of its own, without interference or corrupt influences. Although everything in our society seems to suggest the opposite, I still believe that music has the power to change things, to move atoms, thoughts and positions”.
