From Script to Coldplay: Releases from August to October
Several artists, both national and international, have already announced their next new releases, most of which are preceded by singles, already available on streaming platforms.
There are many albums coming soon and, thanks to digital distribution, the month of August also has some surprises in store for you soon. Let’s recap someone of the releases with the publication dates.
The new releases
Let’s start from August 16th when is the new album from the Dubliners scheduled to arrive Script by title “Satellites” which breaks a discographic silence that lasted since the release of the previous “Sunsets & Full Moons” published in 2019. The new album by the Irish is dedicated to their bandmate and friend Mark Sheehan disappeared last year. The single “At Your Feet” and on December 11th the band will be live in Milan.
Even the imminent return of Post Malone is set for August 16. His country album “F1 Trillions” that day will arrive preceded by three singles: “I had some help” (feat Morgan Wallen), “Pour me a drink” (feat Blake Shelton) And “Guy for that” (with Luke Combs)
For the August 23rd it is scheduled “Short n’ Sweet”the album of Sabrina Carpenterfresh from the success achieved by opening for Taylor Swift in Latin America, Australia and Singapore during the Eras Tour. In April Sabrina also debuted on the main stage of Coachella. The new album, preceded by the singles “Expressed” And “Please Please Please”, is the sixth studio work of the American singer and actress (born in 1999). On March 26, 2025, it will be live at the Unipol Forum in Milan, the only concert in Italy.
Also scheduled for release on August 23 is “Romance” the new, fourth album, of DC Fountains The album will contain the two singles released so far: “Starbuster” And “favourite” and nine other tracks.
The next Italians to release a new album are Co’Sang. The Neapolitan rapper duo the August 30th breaks the discographic silence with “Dynasty” which arrives 15 years after the previous “Vita bona” from 2009. Accompanying it is the single: “The first post”. To seal the return of Luchè and Ntò also two live shows (17 and 18 September) in Piazza del Plebiscito, in their Naples.
But August 30th is also the release date (in a completely different artistic context) of “Wild God”, the album of Nick Cave and the Bad Seedsthe follow-up to “Ghosteen” released in October 2019. Produced by Cave and Warren Ellis and mixed by David Fridmann, Cave began writing this new album on New Year’s Day 2023. During sessions at Miraval in Provence and Soundtree in London, the Bad Seeds were joined by Colin Greenwood (bass) and Luis Almau (classical guitar, acoustic guitar). The new single “Long Dark Night” third single from the upcoming 18th studio album. The Australian singer-songwriter and his band are expected in Italy on October 20 at the Unipol Forum in Milan for a concert that has already sold out.
We will have to wait until September 9th for the new album of LL Cool J. For that day Ladies Love Cool James will make available “The Force”, which sees the collaboration of Nas, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Saweetie among others. The latest second single from the New York rapper’s album is titled “Passion”
The date of the is crowded with exits September 20th. The albums for that day are coming Joan as Policewoman with his “Lemons, Limes and Orchids”, Katy Perry which publishes “143” and the discographic return of Manu Chao with “Long Live You”.
“Lemons, Limes and Orchids” Of Joan as Policewomanthe tenth studio work, is an album about love and loss, a tribute to resistance, with a particular focus on the need to deal with collective collapse and disorientation. On October 17th his European tour will stop in Milan.
“I set out to create a bold, exuberant and celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic numerical expression 143 of love as its main message.” So he says Katy Perry of her new production, which comes four years after the previous one “Smile”.
The absence from the recording industry is much longer Manu Chao. The former Mano Negra returns with “Long Live You”, which comes out 17 years after “Radiolina”, his latest work of unreleased material. It is anticipated by two singles, the eponymous ”Long Live You” and the recent ““Sao Paulo Motoboy”as well as a series of summer dates in our country.
Also scheduled for September 20th is the new album by Nelly Furtado who last May released his first single in six years entitled “Love bites” to anticipate the album “7“.
On the same date of September 20th, the following will also be released: “Changes All The Time”the new effort of James Bay that in “Up all nightt”, the album’s lead single, features the collaboration of The Lumineers And Noah KahanThe eleven tracks of the album are made under the supervision of producer Gabe Simon, along with co-writers such as Brandon Flowers of The Killers, Holly Humberstone, Dan Wilson of Semisonic, Natalie Hemby of The Highwomen and Kevin Garrett.
“Making this album was like my first taste of true musical freedom,” says Bay. “With the help of my co-producer, Gabe Simon, I found the courage to do what I wanted in a way that I had never done before. It’s a very hard place to get to, I’m really excited to put this music out there.”.”
The October 4th for many fans it is a date to mark in red: it is the release day of “Moon Music” the new album of ColdplayThe band has released only one single so far “feelslikeimfallinginlove” but during the summer tour they anticipated some other songs live, as happened in Rome where they performed the world premiere “Good Feeling”.
L’October 11th will come out “The Art Of Letting Go”, the third solo album of Myles Kennedy.
Finally the reports for the October 18, date they arrive “Heavy Lifting” the definitive album of the MC5 and the new work of the Karate “Make It Fit”, the album with which the band of Geoff Farina, Eamon Vitt and Gavin McCarthy returns after 20 years of silence. On that same day it will be available “Shawn” the new album of Shawn Mendes who is posting again after 4 years of silence and mental health problems.
We close by returning to Italy. The October 25th the new album of the perugini is out Fast Animals And Slow Kids by title “Hotel Existence”, which in June had been anticipated by the single “Of course”. Throughout the month of December the band will be busy in Italy with the “Festa tour 2024”.
The reprints
In addition to the new albums, there will also be a series of interesting compilations with reissues, archive material and live. Here are some in order of release.
It starts with the Oasis (August 30th arrives “Definitely Maybe (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)” the limited edition containing tracks recorded and later discarded from the recording session at Monnow Valley Studios, along with outtakes from the final version of the album recorded at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall). This is followed by Neil Young (“Archives Vol. III (1976-1987)”, a 17-CD archival box set due out September 6), “Negrita Thirty” (a box set to be released on September 13th that celebrates the 30th anniversary of the debut album. The single will be released before the release “Gypsy & Spirit”, a song written in 1993 and never released before), Dear (“Forever” 21 songs from his repertoire – September 20), Bob Dylan (“The 1974 Live Recordings” a 27-CD live box set featuring the recordings with The Band available from September 20th) and finally Brian Ferry (an 81-track 1973-2023 retrospective in various formats due out October 25).
