Franz Ferdinand published a song with Johnny Marr
Franz Ferdinand return to unite their forces with Johnny Marr. This time in the recording studio. After the duet of Manchester’s Aviva Studios last January for the Amazon Music City Sessions show, when the former Smiths guitarist joined the Glasgow band for an unprecedented version of “Build It Up”, one of the songs contained in the album that Franz Ferdinand had just released, “Human Fear”, now the partnership between the group and Marr Renew. The band has in fact published the study version of the same duet, which you can listen to right below:
“Johnny is an inspiration. Literally. As a teenager, I sat in my bedroom trying to understand how to play his melodies. Listening to his unmistakable way of playing in our song is glorious. He raised him in a way he knows how to do,” said Alex Kapranos, the frontman of Franz Ferdinand, in a press release, regarding the participation of Marr in the song.
But in addition to the new version of “Build It Up”, the Franz Ferdinand have also published a new version of “Hooked” engraved together with the British rapper Master Peace, who accompanied Kapranos and companions on the dates of the Tour in the United Kingdom: it is not a study recording, but a live recording taken from the recent Franz Ferdinand concert at Barrowlands, in Glasgow, their Christmas city.
Currently engaged with their European tour, the Franz Ferdinand will also arrive in Italy at the end of August for three dates scheduled for August 28 in Romano di Lombardia (in the province of Bergamo – Villa Ca ‘Cornaro), on August 29 in San Mauro Pascoli (in the province of Forlì -Cesena – Villa Torlonia) and on 30 August in Rome (Auditorium Parco della Musica).
