Francesco Cavestri, the album “Noè” is out

He went out “Noah”the fourth album by the 23-year-old pianist from Bologna Francesco Cavestri created for the Classics & Jazz division of Universal Music Italywhich represents the natural artistic continuation of the previous one “IKI – Inspiring Beauty”. In ‘IKI’ Cavestri’s musical reflection revolved around beauty as a generating force, capable of inspiring and transforming, in “Noah” the concept of beauty expands into a dimension of research that crosses contemporary chaos to find a possible salvation through music.

Like the biblical ark through the flood, the album is a container of different sounds, languages and genres that coexist, contaminate each other and finally reach new musical hemispheres. “Noah” is an album of unreleased original contemporary jazz songs, with elements of electronics, solo piano and symphonic arrangements. The album is made up of ten songs for a total duration of approximately forty minutes. The ensemble varies from the jazz trio (piano-double bass-drums) to the orchestral dimension, from solo piano to electronic experimentation. The piano-harmonic writing of Francesco Cavestri blends with a refined contemporary production, capable of balancing acoustic and digital, improvisation and structure, analogue sound and electronic language.

The album is conceived as a sonic story that passes through, like a film, different emotional phases and soundscapes. It opens with the electronic pattern of “Omen of a Sea”. It continues with the title track, built around a jazz trio with a contemporary sound. Passing through the piano sweetness of “The Essence of Beauty”delves into the urban and electronic dimension of “Freedom”to continue in a continuous release of tension and resolution, energy and suspension, until arriving at the orchestral development of the final piece “Souvenir of a Kiss”.

The composition of all the songs is the work of Francesco Cavestri. The musicians involved are Riccardo Marchese (battery) e Alessandro Simeoni (bass and double bass), the recordings were made at Universal Recording Studios Italy. The production and programming of the album is entrusted to Luca Mattionithe arrangements are by Francesco Cavestri And Luca Mattioni. The song “Souvenir of a Kiss” was registered by Budapest Scoring Orchestra and arranged by Richard Marquis And Francesco Cavestriwith support in the transcription and finishing phase from the Maestro Bruno Cinquegrani and the Master Carmelo Patti. Mix and master are handled by Giuseppe Salvadori in the Universal Recording Studios Italy studios.

“Noah”through its musical and narrative structure, aims to overcome the cultural division that often separates the new generations from the language of jazz and instrumental music. In this sense, it wants to be a bridge between tradition and modernity, between classical music and popular culture, between Italy and the world.
