Fontaines DC and Oasis Vitriol Spat
A few weeks ago the big announcement of the reunion of the Oasis which has generated an enthusiasm like we haven’t seen for a long time and has unleashed a wild hunt – and full of controversy linked to dynamic pricing – to tickets for the handful of dates announced by the Manchester band.
In short, the fever has risen above the warning level. Oasis. Fever that has not affected the DC Fountainsindicated by some as a possible opening band for the Gallagher brothers’ tour, at least for the Irish dates.
In an interview with Studio Brussel, .Carlos O’Connell And Conor Deegan IIIrespectively guitar and bass of the Irish band, did not hide their indifference for the news. When asked about their level of excitement for the comeback tour of the OasisO’Connell said bluntly: “I couldn’t care less, to be honest.” Deegan echoed this sentiment: “To be honest, I don’t have that much enthusiasm either. I feel like we’ve gotten caught up in the last era, like the 2010s, in such a nostalgic thing that we forget to do new things.”
Deegan held his ground when talking about his band’s latest album, “Romance” (read the review here), released a couple of weeks ago. “I feel like what we wanted to do with this record was to look to the future and do new things. So for us it’s really annoying that Oasis have reformed now.”
These statements were greeted with the usual aplomb by Liam Gallagher who without posted a pretty clear message on his X channel: “Fuck those little cum bubbles, I’ve seen ROADIES dressed better.”
The frontman of the band thought it was time to tone down the critics’ tone
DC Fountains Grian Chatten
who wrote in an Instagram post: “I love Oasis. This is not my opinion.” Gallagher’s side of things also says the Irish band is a favorite of Liam’s 23-year-old son Gene.
