Florence + The Machine, “Symphony of Lungs” album coming soon

THE Florence + The Machine have announced a new live album titled “Symphony of Lungs (BBC Proms at theRoyal Albert Hall)”recorded during the band’s recent performance with Jules Buckley and his Orchestra to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of “Lungs”the debut album. The album will be released digitally on October 25th, while the physical release is scheduled for March 14th 2025.

That concert took place on September 11 at London’s Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms classical music festival.

“I always thought maybe I would give my first album a long title. “Under Heaven Over Hell” (“uh oh” for short) was an idea,” Florence Welch said in a statement. “But, when I thought of “Lungs,” I knew it had to be it. This album is truly an exhalation and a gasp, a cacophony of ideas and influences. For things to get so big so fast on a debut album is an unknowable blessing and a curse. You never know if the record (or the person) will survive.”

The 38-year-old British musician added: “To be able to go back, fifteen years and five albums later, and still see him so loved is the most extraordinary thing. Reimagining it with Jules Buckley and his Orchestra was an act of enormous catharsis.”
