Flea has announced a solo album with Thom Yorke and Nick Cave
If it weren’t for the fact that this is a parallel project to the Red Hot Chili Peppersone might say: Flea he left the group. But no, i fan of the Los Angeles band of “Californication” they can rest assured: Flea did not leave the group. Simply, a 63 years old the bassist of Red Hot decided to try the thrill of the soloist (it’s never too late, right?). Michael Peter Balzarythis is the real name of musicianhas announced the release, scheduled for next year March 27of his debut solo album, “Honora”. They will be inside top-notch guests: from Thom Yorke to Nick Cave.
THE’album was anticipated already last month by single “A plea”, in which Flea plays the trumpet (he does it on the rest of the album too). In addition to songthere will be more on the album nine tracks on which Flea worked together with Mauro Refosco (David Byrne, Atoms For Peace), Nate Walcott (Bright Eyes), Josh Johnston, Jeff Parmer, Anna Butterss, Deantoni Parks. Alone six of the ten songs they are though originals: the others four I am versions of Flea of songs originally recorded by George Clinton And Eddie Hazel, Jimmy Webb, Frank Ocean And Shea Taylor, Ann Ronell.
As second appetizer extracted from “Honora”Flea chose the song himself “Traffic lights”engraved together with Thom Yorke: «Deantoni and I played what would become “Traffic lights” the first day. It reminded me of something from Atoms For Peaceso I sent it to Thom».
Immediately after the release of diskFlea will be in tours to present “Honora” Between USA, Canada And Europe. There tour will arrive in Europe on May 21st to Berlin (will ring atHeimathafen), then the bassist of RHCP will be the May 22nd to Amsterdam (Paradise), The May 26th to London (Koko) and the May 28th to Paris (Alhambra).
