Fires and volcanoes, rivers and tigers: Annalisa live
A story that develops in three dreams – the fire, the river, the tiger – to tell the artist’s transformation. Live shows are increasingly transforming into immersive experiences made not only of music, but also of large sets, visual arts, special effects, latest generation visual technologies, light and laser projections and architecture, storytelling and dance troupes. This also applies to Annalisa’s concert-show
It is precisely the 14 dancers directed by the choreographer Simone Baroni who inaugurate “Ma noi sono fuoco tour – Chapter 1”, the first of the two sold out events at the Assago Forum of the tour in the Palasports which takes its name from the Ligurian singer’s latest album released last 10 October and which will end on 13 December in Turin.
“We’ve finally arrived, I’m happy to experience the same sensations I felt here, not too long ago, with a completely new show”, comments Annalisa, catching her breath after the first two songs and remembering that she had already performed at the Forum last year. “I thank you with all my heart for being here. And good music.” This is the wish that the singer, accompanied on stage by Daniel Bestonzo (keyboards), Gianni Pastorino (keyboards) and Dario Panza (drums), makes to the audience before resuming her metamorphosis, symbolized by the volcano at the center of the stage.
A heterogeneous audience including couples, girls, teenagers, novice fans and long-time admirers who punctually shout “I love you” at the end of each song.
“This passion, this energy is the fire of Milan”, he reiterates from the stage between hits such as “Ragazza sola”, “Bollicine” and “Discoparadise”, an engaging version of “Sweet dreams”, which led to the evening of covers at the 2024 Sanremo Festival together with La Representative di Lista, and more recent hits including “Maschio”, “Esibizionista”, “Mon amour” and “Bellissima”. “This strong feeling that binds us is always different, every time we take a step further. The reason why I make music is precisely to create this bond and experience all this with you”, he says.
A show in which Nali, as her fans call her, demonstrates her singing skills – especially in pieces such as ‘Tsunami’ and ‘Amica’ – and as a musician in the performance on the piano of the medley that brought together some of the best-known songs of her career such as “Diamante lei e luce lui” and “A window between the stars” but also ‘Secretly’ by Skunk Anansie.
Two and a half hours of live performance in which the artist interprets pop in all its forms, takes flight (literally), sings from a bed suspended in the air, changes her look from total black to leather and sequins, talking about loves, feelings, passions, relationships, transgressions and anxieties typical of millennials, the generation of which the most listened to artist on digital stores in Italy is the spokesperson.
In a time when guests at concerts are the norm, their absence is noticeable. Thus “Piazza San Marco” is sung without the highly anticipated Marco Mengoni (engaged in a European tour) and is cut from the “Storie brevi” setlist, one of the most beautiful songs in his repertoire and originally recorded with Tananai.
“We have lived through many eras, we have transformed, we are different,” he says in closing. “Each song is a transformation, it means transforming together with the world that transforms. And in all of this we have always held each other’s hands. You are the river, you are the tiger”, he greets before the last song on the programme, ‘Io sono’, which reads “Goodbye for the moment”. Only for the moment, in fact.
