Fender and the new guitar dedicated to Tom Morello
Tom Morello he always knew what sound he wanted to get out of his guitar. Whether it was with Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave or Måneskin, the identity of his six-string was always clear. Fender celebrates it by creating “Arm the Homeless”, a faithful reconstruction of one of the most iconic and unconventional guitars in the history of rock.
The project was born from a direct collaboration between Fender and Morello, with the aim of bringing back to life the instrument that accompanied his career through Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave and Prophets of Rage. “Arm the Homeless” was a constant presence, a means of personal and artistic discovery that accompanied him in all 22 albums recorded.
“This strange island of misfit toys,” Morello says, “has brought a lot of magic into my life, and I hope some of that magic can carry over into yours, too.” The aesthetics and soul of the instrument reflect a total rejection of conformism: from provocative writings to hand-drawn details, for an instrument capable of moving from jazz to the most explosive rock and metal riffs.
A portion of the proceeds of Arm the Homeless guitar is destined for Midnight Mission and Covenant House, two charities personally chosen by Tom Morello. Both are committed to providing support, dignity and hospitality to people experiencing serious housing difficulties.
