Farewell to the singer-songwriter, cartoonist and actor Gianfranco Manfredi
After a long illness, Gianfranco Manfredi – singer-songwriter, writer, screenwriter, actor and cartoonist – passed away at the age of 76. According to reports, Manfredi passed away at five this morning. The sad news was shared by his eldest daughter, Diana, who remembered him as a “genius” and a “curious mind, never tired of discovering”. He leaves behind his wife Mirella and three daughters Diana, Elena and Cora. The funeral will take place privately.
Born in Senigallia on 26 November 1948, as well as creator of the comic book character “Magico Vento”, author of numerous episodes of “Dylan Dog”, “Tex”, “Nick Rider” and screenwriter for the cinema, Gianfranco Manfredi made his debut as a singer-songwriter in 1972 with the album “Lacrisis”. During his career he has collaborated with musicians such as Gino Paoli, Mia Martini, Gaber, Jannacci, RIcky Gianco, and is the author of books of music criticism dedicated to Lucio Battisti, Celentano, Mina, Milva, Vanoni. Among the albums published there are “Ma non รจ una massimo” in 1976, “Zombies of the whole world unite” in the following year, up to “In paradise it’s too hot” in 1993.
