Evanescence: new album “will be released in 2026”
It’s been almost a year since Evanescence confirmed that they were working intensely on the new album. Now, drummer Will Hunt has finally given a concrete time perspective and shared some precious details of the band’s next studio effort, successor to 2021’s “The bitter truth” (read our review here).
In a new interview with Mark Strigl, as transcribed by “Blabbermouth,” Will Hunt revealed:
“The new album will be out later this year. I can’t wait for people to hear it. It’s a cliché to say ‘It’s the best thing we’ve ever done,’ but this time it’s something crazy. It’s another level. Amy Lee is really pushing the boundaries, and we’re all pushing the limits.”
When asked which producers are collaborating with Evanescence, the drummer revealed: “We did, like, four songs with Nick Raskulinecz, who produced the last two records; he worked on the 2011 self-titled album and then on 2021’s ‘The bitter truth’. So we recorded four songs with him. By the way, this was the idea for the previous record too, but COVID had other plans. We couldn’t move as we wanted.” He added:
“This new album is partly done with Nick Raskulinecz. Then we worked with Jordan Fish and Zakk Cervini. Zakk is mixing the entire album. He mixed ‘Afterlife’, the song included in the Netflix series ‘Devil May Cry’. We did that song with Nick and with Zakk on the mix, and it was a bit like the first test of this collaboration. Then we made six or seven songs with Zakk and Jordan Fish. And the result goes beyond my expectations, and it’s great. I’m a hard guy to impress when it comes to this stuff.
While he is working to complete the album, the band led by Amy Lee is currently formed together with Tim McCord (guitar/bass), Will Hunt (drums), Troy McLawhorn (guitar) ed Emma Anzai (bass, backing vocals) has announced a tour that includes a date in Italy on Monday 28 September 2026 at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno, near Bologna. The American singer and actress will open the concert Poppy and the British duo Nova Twins.
