After collaborating in the drafting of the 2015 hit “Love Yourself” and having duetted on the single “I Don’t Care” of 2019, and Sheeran and Justin Bieber had ready another collaborative song, which however never seen the light. The British singer -songwriter has in fact recently revealed that his song “Camera”, recently released in the new album “Play” (here our review), released on September 12, was about to become a duet with Bieber.

Speaking of the origins of the piece in a new interview with Siriusxm, Sheeran said she was so convinced that it should be a collaboration with the Canadian singer, that she even had to enter the studio with him and record a complete version.

“I wrote it for ‘=’, then became a duet with Justin Bieber for her ‘Justice’, which in the end did not materialize,” explained the voice of “Thinking Out Loud” explaining how “Chamber” is linked to the implementation phase of her fifth album and the sixth work of study by Bieber, both released in 2021. A version with Justin.

In the recent interview for Siriusxm, the British singer -songwriter also told the inspiration behind the song “Camera”, explaining that he was born from the most beautiful memories he preserves and that they were not immortalized by a camera. “When I was 11 years old, I remember playing my first concert and having pretended to be in front of 40,000 people. It was incredible,” Sheeran said as reported by the US edition of “Rolling Stone”: “If someone had resumed it with a mobile phone, the magic would have been lost”. He continued: “I remember my marriage proposal to my wife in a very precise way. Maybe it would have been a completely different thing and memory if someone had filmed it. I really believe that sometimes the cameras take away the magic”.
