Dua Lipa, via the European tour: in the lineup cover of local icons
The new European tour of Dua Lipa has started from Madrid, who will bring the British singer-songwriter of Kosarters to Italy on 7 June for a date at the I-Days in Milan. The Spanish capital hosted the first two dates of the tour, scheduled at the Movistar Arena on 11 and 12 May.
In both concerts of Madrid, the voice of “Houdini” resumed the habit inaugurated in Australia and New Zealand to pay homage to the local musical icons with covers. The pop star therefore seems willing to continue on this road also for the new European concert tranche. During the first date at the Movistar Arena in Madrid, to inaugurate the European branch of the “Radical Optimism Tour”, Dua Lipa chose to reinterpret Enrique Iglesias “Hero” in a version entirely in Spanish.
The following evening, the English star paid tribute to another local legend, performing a cover of “ME Gustas TĂș” of Manu Chao.
Given the habit, which now seems consolidated for the tour, Italian fans can now hope that Dua Lipa chooses to offer the cover of an Italian myth also in Milan next June. Who knows who will choose.
The practice of rereading songs by local artists during the stages of the tour is absolutely not new among the artists. Just think that – among other things – last year the I -Days The Metallica played the cover of “Acida” of the Prozac+ for the Italian date (here our story) of their tour in support of the album “72 Seasons”.
The last tricolor passage of Dua Lipa dates back to 2022, when he performed in Bologna and Milan for two stages of the tour linked to “future nostalgia”. In 2024, to present the latest album “Radical Optimism” live, La Popstar chose to undertake a short tour that started in June from Berlin (here our story), which however did not touch our country.
