Dua Lipa and Massive Attack among the signatories of the letter Pro Gaza

Dua Lipa, Massive Attack and other British artists including Wolf Alice, Primal Scream, Brian Eno and Annie Lennox they signed an open letter addressed to the British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmerasking to put an end to the “complicity of the United Kingdom” in the current conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

The letter, organized by the Charity Choose Loveaccuses the British government of allowing the sale of weapons to Israel and to release licenses for weapons producers. In September 2024, the government suspended 30 licenses of companies involved in the supply of materials in Israel.

The letter underlines that the world is observing and that history will not forget, expressing concern for the situation of children in Gaza and asking the Prime Minister to choose between complicity in war crimes or the courage to act against the catastrophic humanitarian situation of Gaza.

The conflict began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched an attack on Israel, causing the death of 1,200 people and the kidnapping of over 250. Israeli reprisals led to the death of over 54,000 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, according to the Ministry of Health of Gaza.

Over 300 personalities from the world of music, television and British cinema, including directors and actors known as Danny Boyle, Nicola Couaughn, Benedict Cumberbatch, Riz Ahmed, Tilda Swinton And Gary Linersigned the letter.
