Among the many reactions to the news of the official engagement between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, announced yesterday, perhaps the most surprising one came from the President of the United States.

In the past, Donald Trump had repeatedly criticized the singer, both for his alleged support for the Wake movement and for his declaration of vote in favor of Kamala Harris (he had come to declare “hatred Taylor Swift”).

During a press conference held yesterday 26 August, a reporter who asked him for an opinion on the Swift-Kelce engagement, Trump replied:

“I wish them a lot of luck. He is an excellent player and a good boy, she is a splendid person.”
