Dolly Parton: “I’m not dead yet”
After the latest news had kept fans in suspense, and her sister had even asked them to “pray for her”, Dolly Parton breaks the silence. The 79-year-old queen of country intervenes personally to clarify the news circulating about her health, after being forced to postpone some concerts.
With the irony that distinguishes her, the singer-songwriter shared a video on social media. Caption: “I’m not dead yet.” In the clip, Parton explains:
I know lately everyone thinks I’m sicker than I am. Do you think I’m sick? I’m working hard! I wanted to reassure everyone. I appreciate your prayers. I want you to know that I’m fine. I have some problems that I have already mentioned to you. When my husband was sick… when he passed away, I didn’t take care of myself. I let a lot of things happen that I should have taken care of. When I found the time, the doctor told me: ‘We have to take care of this, we have to take care of that.’ Nothing major, but I had to cancel some things so I could be closer to home, closer to Vanderbilt, where I’m getting some treatments.”
