Depeche Mode: all the details on the DVD and the live album “M”
Depeche Mode have announced that the concert film “Depeche Mode: M”, which will arrive in cinemas on October 28th, will also be released in physical format, in the form of a DVD and live album. The concert film, directed by the Mexican director Fernando Frias de la Parra, focuses on three concerts that the English band held at the Foro Sol in Mexico City in 2023. The group was fresh from the release of its fifteenth album “Memento Mori” (read the review here), and at the same time mourning the passing of the founding member Andy Fletcher which took place in May 2022.
The physical release of “M” is scheduled for Friday 5 December on double DVD, Blu-Ray and double CD.
On the first disc of the package, fans can enjoy “a cinematic journey into the heart of Mexican culture’s relationship with death, framed by Depeche Mode’s compelling live performances during their ‘Memento Mori’ tour.” The film blends concert footage with interpretive interstices and archival material. The second disc, entitled “Memento Mori: Mori: Mexico City”, contains a full-length concert film, also directed by Fernando Frías de la Parra, made during the 2023 Mexico City shows.
The two 2-CD sets will contain over two hours of music from these concerts, as well as four previously unreleased bonus tracks taken from the “Memento Mori” album sessions. The first of these tracks, “In The End,” will hit streaming platforms this Friday, October 24th.
