Delicates are unpredictable
It’s about the second studio album, a new look for the collective of musicians which in this album he chooses to draw from electronic music influencessurprising and ranging between club music, PC‐experimental music and jazz. The result is “Delicatronic”, out December 20ththe second ring of the Delicatoni: at the center there are productions with increased bpm compared to the past, which use drum machines and arrangements resulting from musical synthesis rather than orchestral solutions. The songs alternate, showing the different sound guises of the group, from techno pieces to tracks with an operatic flavour until arriving at a real jam session recorded in the Casa degli Artisti in Milan.
“Ten tracks that revolve around the search for mystery, magic and spirituality, exploring the connection between human experience and the digital world and placing at the center the importance of sharing, aggregation and transportation for love. ‘Delicatronic’ is a symbolic representation of travel described through words and sounds that arise from electrical energy”, with these words the collective presents the project. To enrich the Delicatoni project there are some refined collaborations that fit into the imagery of the album, further exploring its electronic soul: Nice Elevator, Coquinati, Lamante and Spraytan (design by Conrad Morris and Smilian Jack Cibic).”‘Delicatronic’ is our new work, with which we try to transport our warm, serene and playful music into the cold electrical circuits of synthesizers, computers, modular systems and drum machines – they continue – it’s music that suits dark club rooms and sunny beach resorts. It is music for romantic dinners, for afternoons in the park, for evenings at the bar with friends. Together with Italian and international artists and friends, we produced this album over a long period which led us to discover new ways of making, playing and sharing our music“.
Delicatoni is an independent musical project born in the city of Vicenza. The group is made up of Antonio Bettini, Smilian Jack Cibic, Giorgio Manzardo and Claudio Murru. Their musical style is diverse, ranging from sweet jazz ballads, dreamy psych-pop songs to ecstatic dance tracks. The project is inspired by the relationship between the beauty of their ancient neoclassical city and the digital and rationalized culture in which their music is placed. The name “Delicatoni” in fact suggests a paradoxical sense of caricatural delicacy, of tenderness and overflowing warmth. In 2022, they released the self-titled debut album “Delicatoni”. Through collaboration with talented musicians from the Vicenza area, their sound is‐fi has matured into a project that is simultaneously traditional and experimental, acoustic and electronic, Italian and international. The album received unexpected attention. In 2023 they released “Giorno libero”, a four-track EP with sounds ranging from disco, jazz, soul, synth-pop and classical music. A work that played the role of an appendix to the previous album. Now space for “Delicatronic”, a new sound adventure, which follows the only rule that the collective embraces: never repeat itself.
