Deep Purple releases new album “SPLAT!”

THE Deep Purple they return, two years later “=1” (read the review here), with the new studio album, “SPLAT!”out on earMUSIC on July 3rd. The frontman of the English band Ian Gillan he says: “Today’s Deep Purple looks a lot like a ‘current’ version of Deep Purple from the seventies”.

Once again, the band collaborated with the producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, Alice Cooper) and together they created an album that recalls the sound and attitude of Deep Purple. Still Ian Gillan about the new album he enthusiastically declares: “The new music is in line with songs like “Highway Star”, “Smoke on the Water”, “Lazy”, it has the same dynamics, the same balance and the same fun as what we wrote between ’69 and ’73”.

At the center of “SPLAT!” there is an idea of Ian Gillan. Rather than seeing the end as destruction, the album imagines it as transformation: “SPLAT!” explores the end of humanity, not in an apocalyptic sense, but as a metamorphosis beyond physical existence. Ian Gillan he sums it all up like this: “Deep Purple are in great shape.”

The band will present the album in concert in Italy next year too 16 and 17 Julyrespectively in Piazza Cavalieri in Pisa et al Carrarese Castle in Este in the province of Padua. The group will return to our country on October 17 toUnipol Forum in Assagonear Milan.

All LPs include a 12-page booklet in vinyl format with illustrations and lyrics of all the songs, available only in the first pressing.
