David Gilmour: “Never again with Waters”

David Gilmour, interviewed by Corriere della Serahas no doubts: “Pink Floyd? Only with the Ai”. The British guitarist categorically excludes every possibility of real reunion with the historic band, specifying: “Never again with Waters”. A shelver door remains for a virtual version: “Yes, to a reunion with artificial intelligence”. Gilmour has just transformed the five concerts held at the Circus Maximus of Rome into a concert film that will arrive in Italian theaters from 17 to 24 September (here our article-receipt).

“Each tour becomes the most beautiful ever,” he said, underlining the enthusiasm with which he continues to live music, even after decades of career. His daughter Romny accompanies him on stage, who sings by his side, while the lyrics of the songs are written by his wife Polly Samson. “Without her there would have been the last two albums,” Gilmour explained, recognizing the fundamental role of his partner in his recent production. Aware of being perceived as a living legend, the artist does not give up the creative push: “I like to renew myself, I like to think that there is still energy to do new things”. To the question about the future, Gilmour lets himself go to a reflection on the next 80 years: “I am serene, I do not get there from Puritan, I drink my glass of wine or my beer. Of course, I once thought I was immortal. And I came to the conclusion that you shouldn’t have too much money, too successful, too successful when you are too young. Because you don’t know how to appreciate”.
