David Bowie is the most iconic haircut in the UK

The late David Bowie – died at 69 years of age in 2016 from liver cancer – he surprised the fans with his look from “Alien androgynous” with flame hair for his fifth album “Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars” and, after five decades, is still much loved and remembered in the United Kingdom.

In a survey conducted on 2,000 British (not a great champion) 19% chose that of Ziggy as the best hairstyle, beating the “Rachel cut” of the “Friends” star Jenifer Aniston (17%), the Geometric Flat Top of Grace Jones and the MOP Top style Beatles.

The Top 10 also includes the Beehive of Amy Winehouse (14%) and the high horse tail of Ariana Grande (12%).

Almost half of the interviewees said he was inspired by celebrities for their haircuts.

Claudia Crosse, senior consultant for the research and analysis of the Perspectus Global Agency, who conducted the study, commented: “The beautiful hairstyles remain really impressed in the memory: just think of the popularity of the cutting of David Bowie, which still makes a sensation 50 years later”.
