Damiano: “I needed to express a different side of me”

Damiano David he was a guest of Fabio Fazio at “Che tempo che fa” to present his first solo single, “Silverlines” (listening to Rockl here), released last September 27th and produced by Labrinth. During his participation in the program on the Nine, which also featured Amadeus as a guest in tonight’s episode 6 October, the singer of Måneskin he sang for the first time live his new song in public.

In addition to performing live, Damiano sat down for a chat with the host and was asked what it means “Silverlines“, the first preview of a larger project like a studio album that he is working on, he explained:

“As a term it indicates the ‘positive side’. After many years, I reached the point where I really needed to express a different side of myself, a side that I had also kept hidden for many years.”

He added: “I understood that for me love is a starting point, not a point of arrival and therefore I wanted to try again to rebuild everything starting from that.”

After talking about his girlfriend Dove Cameron, explaining that “Silverlines” was “one of the first songs that I wrote and then in the end it turned out to be almost a premonition, because in reality it’s where I am today”, the singer confirmed the start of his solo career it doesn’t mean the end of Måneskin. “Everything is ok, everything is ok. We are friends like before. It’s a break. It’s an Erasmus”, said Damiano speaking about the group, before recalling the great artists he met during the various experiences with the band, from Mick Jagger to Chris Martin who invited him to “take advantage of his home”.
