Damiano: "My project and Måneskin live a separate life"

Damiano David recorded a song together with Nile Rodgers

Maneskin can (still) wait. While voices and rumors continue to chase each other on a possible return of the Roman group, the singer of the band, Damiano David, collects a collaboration with a rock giant without the other three: Nile Rodgers. The Roman singer, who last September inaugurated with the single “SilverLines” his solo project, before the release of the debut album “Funny Little Fears” in May, announced the release of a new song resulting from the collaboration with the Chic frontman. And together with the two there is also the South African pop star. The single, entitled “Talk to Me”, will be released next Friday, September 12th.

About the collaboration, Damiano tells:

In the last period, and with the approach of the tour, a new wave of inspiration has arrived. “Tak to me” was born like this, but to make it special for me it was to know that Nile Rodgers wanted to work on the piece and embellish it with his guitar. Also, while I wrote it, I always imagined it as a duet. Lately I found myself listening to Tyla’s very often “Water”, I really like his voice, so I wanted him to sing it with me. This double validation by two artists I admire is very significant for me. “

Rodgers, 72 years old, who during his career has had to deal with legends of the caliber of Madonna, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, makes it known:

When I received the song from Damiano and Tyla, I loved the vibes that he sent me and I wanted my guitar to become the third voice of this song. ‘Talk to me’ was a very fun project to work on.

On 11 September Damiano will kick off from Cos Torwar of Warsaw, Poland, to his tour in European buildings. The tour includes only two stages in Italy: on 7 October the Maneskin singer will perform at the Unipol Forum in Milan, while on 11 and 12 October he will perform at the Palazzo dello Sport of his Rome.
