Damiano David already thinks about the future. Without the Maneskin
There will be no songs in Italian in “Funny Little Fears”, the album that on May 16, in just over a month, will mark the official record debut of Damiano David as a soloist: the 14 songs contained in the album are all written and sung in English. But the Maneskin singer, paused since last year, already thinks about the future, without the band. And he dreams of an album in Italian.
In a recent interview granted to the microphones of Siriusxm during the promotion of the last single extracted from the album, “Next Summer”, the item of “Zitti e Bononi” has made it known:
I want to make an Italian album, I would like to do it with ten songs, ten featuring, with artists who respect.
Damiano then specified that his intention is not to make a record in which English and Italian mix, as happened for example in the works of the Maneskin:
I think everything has a language and I also think that my Italian musical culture is not something to want to sneak every now and then. I don’t believe in doing things at 50%, if I will do music in Italian I will do the entire project in Italian. Also because it is a completely different way of thinking, I think my solo music in Italian would be once again very different from what I am doing now because it is a completely different language and has different rules. I want to put the time you need.
By announcing the release of “Funny Little Fears” the 26 -year -old Roman singer wrote to the fans: “I was always afraid of the height, that at any moment the ground would split under my feet and in a second it ended. I was afraid of darkness, an immensity that I can’t see or understand, that could take me if I do not pay attention to where I put my feet. I even knew if I really wanted. and honestly I am still afraid, but I wrote a manual.
Last October, speaking of the Maneskin break, the singer had reassured the fans and promised: “Everything is ok, everything is ok. We are friends as before. It’s a break. It’s an Erasmus”.
The world tour linked to “Funny Little Fears” will start on September 11 from Warsaw, Poland, and will arrive in Italy for three dates scheduled for October 7 at the Unipol Forum in Milan and 11 and 12 October at the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome.
