Daft Punk: Nearly six hours of new music from Thomas Bangalter
Last November, Place de l'Opéra in Paris was transformed into a large cavern thanks to the installation created by the French artist JR as the backdrop to “Chiroptera”, a dance show performed by over 150 dancers, including the étoile of Paris Opéra ballet Amandine Albisson (with dress designed and made by Chanel). The choreography was signed by Damien Jalet with music by ex Daft Punk Thomas Bangalter.
Six months after the debut, the composition signed by the former friend of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo – already involved in other dance projects, including “Mythologies” for the ballet by the internationally renowned French choreographer Angelin Preljocaj – was rendered available to listen. The publication arrives together with the video of the incredible performance:
In addition to the twelve minutes of music from “Chiroptera”, Thomas Bangalter shared additional material from the same project, entitled “Chiroptera Matiere Premiere” and lasting a total of almost six hours.
In February 2021, Daft Punk announced their retirement from the scene with an eight-minute video entitled “Epilogue”.
