Cure: the album is released with “Songs of a lost world” live at the Troxy
After the preview last November 29th with Robert Smith’s remix and the live version of “A fragile thing”, the Cure have officially announced the release of a record with the live recording of the new album “Songs of a lost world ” (here the track by track and here the review) performed at the Troxy in London last November 1st (here is our story from the Troxy).
On the stage of the historic art deco style London theater and concert hall, in front of around three thousand people, the British band presented live in its entirety its latest unreleased work, the first since “4:13 Dream” (read the review) of 2008, as well as some of their classics, in the group’s only show with a paying audience scheduled for 2024 after the exclusive shows for the BBC. As promised by the group in a newsletter addressed to fans a few days ago, the first part of the show with the live performance of “Songs of a lost world”, on the day of its release, will be published in an album entitled “Songs of a lost world: Troxy London MMXXIV”. The album will be available from December 13th and the proceeds will be donated to War Child (https://www.warchild.org.uk).
The live will be available on CD, black LP and black cassette, as well as in a version with original album and live album in 2CD, 2LP and 2 cassettes. All versions will be available from December 13th, except vinyl and double vinyl, available from February 14th 2025.
