CSI, the reunion: who will be the drummer?

The CSIs have returned to being news capable of warming the hearts of fans and “loyalists”. The Consortium of Independent Musicians officially announced a tour in 2026almost thirty years after “Tabula Rasa Elettrificata”, the last recording chapter of their history. A return that rekindles attention on one of the most radical and influential experiences of Italian music of the nineties. Here you will find the story of this return started from Marzabotto and the words of the band. Confirmed lineup sees Giovanni Lindo Ferretti to the voice, Giorgio Canali on the guitar, Gianni Maroccolo on the bass, Francesco Magnelli to keyboards and Ginevra Di Marcoagain singing alongside Ferretti. A strong, recognizable nucleus, which directly recalls the deepest identity of the CSI.

However, there remains a fundamental piece still uncovered: who will be the reunion drummer? The last formation of CSI featured percussion Gigi Cavalli Cocchimusician also known for his collaboration with Luciano Ligabue and for a career dotted with projects and sharing the stage with numerous groups on the Italian scene. In the period following the CSI experience, however, he sat down on the drums Simone Filippianother central figure of the post-CSI, who also collaborated with the dei collective Deproducers. At the moment, however, no name has been made official for those who will complete the 2026 tour line-up. The band made it known that she hasn’t entered the rehearsal room yet: there was therefore no work phase on the lineup nor a real fine-tuning of the definitive lineup.

There will be time and a way, in the next few weeks, to close the band and then enter the room, test the balance of the band and build the live path. One certainty, however, already exists. All concerts of the tour will open with “Travelling”a symbolic song in the history of CSI and a choice that was anything but random. It is no coincidence that the entire tour takes its name from this song: “Travelling”. A title that sounds like a declaration of intentmore than as a simple nostalgic reminder. The return of the CSI today does not just come from memory, but from a movement that takes shape again. And while it remains to be discovered who will sit on the drums, the journey, this time, has officially begun again.
