Kurt Cobain, new investigation into his death: "It was murder"

Courtney Love remembers Kurt Cobain on social media

Through a post shared on Instagram Courtney Love remembered Kurt Cobain on what would have been the 59th birthday of the Nirvana frontman, who passed away in April 1994 at the age of 27. The Hole frontwoman published on her official social profile an old photo of Cobain with a caption reading “Nmrk”, commonly used as an abbreviation for “Nam-myoho-renge-kyo”, accompanied by the emoticon of a lotus flower and completed by the acronym “Brb”, which in a romantic context means “Be right back”, along with the number 59.

In the comment of a fan pinned above by Courtney Love, the context of the shot is revealed: “This photo was taken at the home of William S. Burroughs! Here we see Kurt inside his orgone accumulator. William S. Burroughs was one of Kurt’s favorite authors, he collaborated with him on ‘The priest they called him’. Kurt passed away before Burroughs and Burroughs was very saddened when he learned of his friend’s passing.”

Courtney Love’s publication of the photo comes just days after news of a new independent report supporting the theory of homicide in Kurt Cobain’s death. While the Seattle police and the King County medical examiner’s office reiterated that Kurt Cobain’s death was a suicide, the British newspaper “Daily Mail” reported the statements of a source close to Courtney, according to which the 61-year-old singer and actress would be trapped “in a sort of own version of ‘Groundhog Day'”, referring to the 1993 film with Bill Murray in which the protagonist relives the same day over and over again, and is facing “one suffering after another” in light of the latest theory on Kurt Cobain’s death. Speaking to the “Daily Mail”, the source declared:

“Over the years and decades since Kurt’s death, she’s heard every possible version about his death, including that it was her fault. One heartbreak after another. She’s loved him more than anyone else in her life. She’ll always remember him for who he was, but now that there’s another conspiracy theory about how he died, it’s her version of ‘Groundhog Day.’ As the years go by there will always be something else. Courtney will choose to honor him instead of reliving that terrible moment in his life and giving him attention he doesn’t deserve.”

The documentary “On the life of Courtney Love, especially the period after her move to London in 2019, was presented at the Sundance Festival last JanuaryAntiheroinesThe film features rare archival footage and never-before-seen footage of Courtney and Kurt, from the early days of their romance to parenthood and the moments leading up to the Nirvana frontman’s tragic death. Also in the new documentary, Love addresses recently resurfaced allegations that Cobain’s death was actually a homicide and that she may have played a role in it.
