Courtney Love is officially working on new music
The rebirth of Courtney Love it will start from a film. It’s called “Antiheroine” and will be part of the 2026 Sundance Film Festival lineup. The synopsis reads: “Singer, songwriter and actress Courtney Love has long had an impact on rock and pop culture. Now sober and ready to release new music For the first time in over a decade, Courtney is ready to reveal her story, unfiltered and unapologetic.”
The film about Kurt Cobain’s widow will be directed by Edward Lovelace And James Hallauthors of the 2014 film “The Possibilities Are Endless,” which tells the story of singer Edwyn Collins during his recovery from a stroke. It will be produced by Dorothy St. Pictures, the company that recently produced the Netflix series about Victoria Beckham and the 2023 documentary “Pamela: A Love Story.”
The film joins a Sundance 2026 lineup that includes “The Moment,” a mockumentary in which Charli XCX plays a fictionalized version of herself. The “Brat” singer will also be present at the festival in the film “The Gallerist”, with Jenna Ortega, and in the erotic thriller “I Want Your Sex”, with Cooper Hoffman and Olivia Wilde. The Sundance Film Festival runs from January 22nd to February 1st.
As the lead singer of Hole and as a solo artist, Courtney Love has remained a prominent figure in the music industry since the 1990s. His latest album is “Nobody’s Daughter” with Hole in 2010, while his last solo album is “America’s Sweetheart” in 2004. As the film’s synopsis suggests, he is working on a new solo albumexpected since 2023, when he first hinted that he wanted to produce new music.
