Co’Sang live in Naples: a journey through time
Their return was a journey through time and music, a reference to songs that have marked the history of Neapolitan rap such as “Who dies for me” and “Good life”but also a new chapter with “Dinastia”, the album that marks the reunion. And the incipit of the evening is taken from the new album, with “A creature in the world”a song that evokes the beginning of a new path, without forgetting the roots: “N’so nu criatur per joc still”. Even if they are not kids anymore, Ntò and Luchè they continue to play, and this time the game is harder and wet from the rain. Despite the bad weather, the 22,000 fans present in Piazza del Plebiscitoparticipate actively, jumping and singing. The square becomes “the district” for a special night. Co’Sang are back on stage after twelve years of silences and solo careers, with a concert that marks not only their reunion, but also the “victory of the suburbs over the center”, peacefully invaded by fans. Luchè and Ntò go on stage. And it’s immediately Forza Co’Sang: their energy is intact.
The audience is immediately captured by the first notes of “What do I have”a journey back in time to the beginning, to then be projected into the present with “Flesh and Bones” a song that reflects the musical and personal evolution of the two rappers. The set is enriched by a live bandadding depth and intensity to historic pieces such as “Whoever dies for me” . Then it’s time for the Club Dogowho go on stage to “More time”adding an extra dose of power to the evening. Special guests are not missing: The Koyote that personalizes “Don’t talk to me on the street” with his unmistakable stamp, while Geeno joins for “When will I know about it?” . The Fuosserashistorical companions, share the stage for “Raw Poetry” bringing with them the memory of a time gone by. One of the most anticipated moments of the evening comes with Geographerthe heir of the Neapolitan rap scene, who pays homage to his masters. Nto and Luchè pass the baton to him on the notes of “To lose one’s head”the song they recorded together for “Dinastia”.
The audience explodes with enthusiasm, recognizing in the very young rapper the future of the scene that Co’Sang have helped to create.. The love song, which has already topped the charts, perfectly represents the transition between two generations of musicians. The grand finale is a celebration of the roots, with the two songs that perhaps more than all have marked the history of the duo: “In the neighborhood” and “Good life”.
