Classic Rock is always present in the American ranking
A close observation of the album US sales ranking, the Billboard Top 200, reveals that the Classic Rock occupies almost 10% of the positions. Most of these are Greatest Hits, but there are also three historic studio records. A couple of these are approaching the record of “The Dark Side of the Moon” (Read the review here) of the Pink Floydwhich holds the record for the highest number of total weeks spent in the standings with 990.
