Chrissie Hynde to loyal fans: “Move from the front row”

The leader of the Pretenders Chrissie Hynde has asked its most loyal fans, with a message published on the band’s social networks, not to occupy the space in the front row near the stage in multiple concerts in a row. The request of the 73-year-old long-time rocker is due to the fact that she noticed that at every concert of the English tour the same people always follow the show near the stage, so she invited them to “give local fans a chance”.

This follows the message from Chrissie who first thanked the fans of Pretenders: “Hi everyone! First of all, thanks to everyone who came to see our shows. We’re in the home stretch of this year’s tour and it’s been a real pleasure. Fantastic cities and fantastic audiences. We had a great time playing for you.”

To then proceed with the request: “One thing we feel obliged to explain: When we go on tour, the central point for the band is that we play in front of a different audience every night. That’s why we go on tour! So if we’re in Edinburgh (like tonight), we can’t wait to see the local faces. That’s what makes it new for us every night. We appreciate those of you who follow us and purchase tickets to multiple shows, so please don’t be offended if we ask you to move from the front row. All we ask is to give local audiences a chance. That’s what keeps it new for us… especially after being on tour for so many months.”
