Charlie Charles: from Ernia’s album to its producer album

Charlie Charles has returned to putting his signature on an entire record projectguiding the production and artistic direction of “For money and for love”, the new album by Ernia, recently released. A dense, personal work, built in many situations around the piano and far from the trap, the genre that most of all contributed to ferrying to the mainstream. For the multiplatin producer, which with Sfera Ebbasta has musically scored the last ten years of the urban and pop world, it was an important Comeback: did not happen from “Famoso” of 2022 that he was working on a record in this way. Not just an artistic direction, But a work lived in full, with a clear vision and direct participation in every phasefrom writing to production, always alongside the artist.

The collaboration with Ernia was born from afar, when, still at the beginning of their respective careers, their roads had touched several times, but only recently this union has materialized. In recent years, in fact, the two have approached again and the album has become the natural fulfillment of this affinity, strengthened in the studio and consolidated by a human relationship that reported Charlie Charles to rediscover not only a colleague, but also a friend. This disc returned to the producer the enthusiasm of its most relevant tests. The same satisfaction he had tried for some projects in the past has re -emerged through an immersive experience that prompted him to get back into the game after a period of pause. And it is the first piece of a new phase: In fact, Charlie is not a secret, after a first moment of refusal, for some time he has put himself at work on a producer album, which in the musical environment is not only very expected, but those who have been able to listen to some extracts, also consider very interesting. It will be curious to understand which road will take in this project, the exit of which is imminent. The feeling is that there is declared will to go beyond the trapto experiment and run on new fields.

The consecration arrives in 2019 with Mahmood’s “money”, winner of the Sanremo Festival. With hundreds of platinum records, Charlie has redefined the recent coordinates of the Italian trap, and not only, but in general of music. For this reason, all the spotlights are focused on his next move: his first producer album.
