Chaka Khan announces new album “Chakzilla”

The winner of 11 Grammy Awards and member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Chaka Khan announced the release of the new studio album, entitled “Chakzilla“. The album will be released on September 18th and follows the awarding of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award to the artist, received in early 2026.

Each track on the album was co-written by Chaka Khan together with the singer-songwriter Is and to the manufacturer Greg Kurstinwho oversaw the entire production of the album. The work features several guests from the international music scene, including Sia herself, Snoop Dogg And Lenny Kravitz.

The central themes of the album, as stated by the performer herself, revolve around her own recent personal experiences:

This album is about joy, freedom and self-love. I’ve been through a lot since my last album came out and I wanted these songs to reflect that, talking about being human and finding your strength.

“Chakzilla”, the title track already released, has recorded over a million views on YouTube: we talked about it here. “Boogie’s In My Soul” is the new promotional single, featuring Snoop Dogg. Regarding the recording session, Snoop commented on the song: “There’s nothing you can do to erase it. It’s in your system, now let it get into your soul.”

The release of the album is part of a year of renewed activity for the artist, whose career exceeds fifty years of activity. The debut in London of “I’m every woman“, a new musical of the West End inspired by the singer’s biography and musical repertoire.
