BTS, possible return to March 2026 after military service
According to “The Korea Herald”, the return of the giants of the K-Pop BTS is increasingly real and close. After almost two years spent between soloist projects and military obligations, the seven South Korean boys are planning to return to complete training for March 2026. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook will officially meet at the end of the mandatory military service of 18 months for all members, with Suga who will conclude their duty in a few days, Saturday 21 June.
Also according to what was reported by “The Korea Herald”, to confirm the return of the BTS was a representative of Hybe, the entertainment company that manages the group through the Big Hit Music label, listed on the stock exchange since 2020, with a current market capitalization of approximately 9.4 billion dollars. “The date of the BTS return is set for March next year,” said the representative. The period coincides with what has already been mentioned by the CEO of Hybe, Lee Jae -ong, who had declared to the shareholders at the beginning of the year that the group would need “time for preparation and creative work”, after the end of military service.
As underlined by “Variety”, the Reunion in March could be strategically synchronized with the return of the Tomorrow X Together, always under Hybe, and some sources even hypothesize a close exit of the two “brothers” groups of the label. “Even if the exact date is not known, I think it will be in mid -March,” said a foreign source to “The Korea Herald”: I heard that the BTS will return in the same month as Tomorrow X Together. The BTS may first come out, or vice versa ”.
To look at the commitments and releases of artists under Hybe, the BTS effect is already hitting: according to some sources taken from “Variety”, the Enhypen – Boyband under the Belift Lab subsidiary – had initially scheduled a return for March, then anticipated in January to avoid competing with the global phenomenon. The March period would also allow the creative space that the Hybe leaders had indicated as necessary: ”We are preparing to be prepared for producers of the highest level, but also the artists need time to reflect and prepare”, he said Lee during the shareholders’ meeting last March. In addition, Momebto’s same BTS, Jin, would thus have time to manage his solo commitments.
The return of the BTS to March 2026 would mark the first release of the band in complete formation from 2022, the year in which they released the anthological album “Proof”, just before the break for military leverage.
