The New Jersey singer-songwriter appears in the second episode of the twelfth and final season of the American series. The episode, entitled “The Lawn Jockey”, sees David playing as always a fictional version of himself, this time busy handing out bottles of water to voters in line, thus violating the electoral integrity law passed by Georgia in 2021.
Playing a fictional version of himself, Springsteen discusses David’s behavior during a fake news interview on MSNBC in the episode. “Larry David took a big risk,” the Boss is heard saying in his cameo: “He put his name and his body at risk. ‘Involvement’ is Larry David’s middle name. Larry ‘Involvement’ David”.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “Curb Your Enthusiasm’s” executive producer Jeff Schaffer called Springsteen’s cameo thrilling because “you never see Bruce Springsteen on a TV show.” He added: “It’s a great thing, because it’s something you can’t see and then, it’s still Bruce ‘fucking’ Springsteen.”
The “Born in the USA” artist, who said goodbye to his mother Adele at the end of last January, will return to Italy in concert next June for two dates at the San Siro Stadium in Milan.
