Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White meeting on set
After the first image of Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen, they now arrive the first photos that they immortalize the meeting between the New Jersey singer-songwriter and the 33-year-old American actor on set of the next one biopic centered on the making of the Boss’ 1982 album, “Nebraska.” As is known, the star of the series “The Bear” was chosen to fill the role of Springsteen in the biopic, entitled “Deliver me from nowhere” and currently in production.
The images of the meeting were revealed by the US site TMZ, which published a series of photos stolen from the set showing Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White hug each other before diving into a long conversation.
A few months ago, in an interview with Variety, White said that he had somehow deliberately avoided direct contact with Springsteen, explaining: “I’m trying to make a personal journey before meeting him in person. I want to try to get an idea, so when I meet him I’ll have a little more confidence.” Speaking to “GQ” about his preparation for the role, the actor also said: “I’m really lucky that now there’s a team of people capable of helping young actors play rock stars. I have a really talented group of people who help me train vocally, musically, to be ready for this role.”
In addition to Jeremy Allen White, the cast of “Deliver me from nowhere” features Stephen Graham (already seen in Peaky Blinders) as Springsteen’s father, Jeremy Strong as mentor and manager Jon Landau, as well as Paul Walter Hauser like guitar tech Mike Batlan. There are also Odessa Young as Faye, an unspecified “love interest,” and Johnny Cannizzaro like Stevie Van Zandt.
More recently, White’s casting for the role was discussed directly by the Boss and Landau, with the latter telling the Telegraph that the actor faced a difficult challenge in “portraying a very introspective person.” He added: “There is always a great deal of emotion at play, some expressed, some held back.”
In another interview for “Hollywood Reporter”, regarding White’s interpretation, Jon Landau he also stated, “He’s just perfect. The cast is amazing. The director Scott Cooper originally told me, ‘If we get the right cast, we’ll tell this story the right way.’ And he found the right cast“.
