Brian May: "Queen don't go to Glastonbury for political reasons"

Brian May brings the sound of Queen to the world of He-Man

There’s something inherently about it Queen in the aesthetics of Masters of the Universe. Maybe it’s that mix of baroque fantasy, steely muscles and a sense of the epic that transcends time. It is not surprising, therefore, that to give new life to the long-awaited live action Of He-Manthe production has decided to knock on the door of a true rock deity: Sir Brian May.

The news comes directly from the guitarist’s Instagram profile, where May posted a meeting that drove fans of two generations crazy: at her side, the director Travis Knight (“Bumblebee”) and the award-winning composer Daniel Pembertonbut the real touch of class was on the table: a collection of action figures vintage from the 80s (originals from 1986, belonging to his son Jimmy) to bless the meeting.

I have the power!“, May began in the post, quoting Prince Adam’s iconic battle cry. And it’s not just a figure of speech. The guitarist is working side by side with Pemberton to weave the sonic textures of an Eternia that promises to be as majestic as it is rock. If Pemberton is the master of modern atmospheres (just think of his work on “Spider-Verse”), May’s addition suggests a soundtrack that will not be afraid to dare. we expect imposing orchestrations dirtied by the poetic feedback of the Red Special, taking us back to those glories of “Flash Gordon” or “Highlander” which made Queen the undisputed rulers of heroic soundtracks.

Sir Brian is not the only famous musician involved in the project: Jared Leto (in a choice that is already dividing the web) will be the terrible and histrionic Skeletor. The release is scheduled for June 5, 2026.
