Bonnie Tyler has emerged from a coma

Through a long message shared on social media, Bonnie Tyler’s family announced that the singer has emerged from the coma, although she remains “very debilitated and in intensive care”.

The 75-year-old Welsh singer, best known for “Total Eclipse Of The Heart,” underwent emergency surgery in Portugal last month. She was subsequently placed in a medically induced coma to aid her recovery. Yesterday, Monday 15 June, the musician’s family released an update on her health conditions via a statement published on her official website, which read: “Bonnie’s family and team would like to update everyone on the progress of her recovery journey. Bonnie is no longer in a coma, but remains very debilitated and in intensive care in a hospital in Portugal. Although her condition is improving, it is a slow process.” And again: “His doctors remain confident that he will recover well, but it will take time.”

The family then explained that all Bonnie Tyler live dates scheduled for this summer have been canceled or postponed until next year, adding: “This will affect all shows currently scheduled until the end of August. At the moment we are still hoping that our concerts in the autumn will be able to take place.”
