Black Keys cancels North American fall tour
The sudden and mysterious cancellation of 30 of the 31 dates scheduled for the International Players Tour, a series of events through which the Black Keys were supposed to promote, in North America, their latest studio effort, “Ohio” is causing discussion overseas. Players”, distributed to the markets on April 5th: the tour, which was originally scheduled to begin next September, and the itinerary of which included important arenas such as Madison Square Garden in New York, and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and other high-capacity venues in centers such as Seattle, Boston and Detroit were canceled without notice. The group's management, at the moment, has not released any statements on the matter, despite the various requests in this regard made by the international press.
At the moment the only appointment officially confirmed by the group's website is the one scheduled for next July 6th in Chicago on the occasion of the Nascar race on the local city track.
Although neither the promoter nor the group's spokespersons have provided explanations regarding the cancellation, fans and observers hypothesize that there may have been purely commercial reasons that led to the decision to take the step back: several arenas that would have served as a backdrop for the dates, before the definitive closure of the pre-sales, were far from sold-out, also due – according to fans – to the price of the tickets which were not exactly affordable, the cost of which fluctuated between 100 and 300 dollars.
