Björk at the cinema in Milan, with guests in the room
Björk’s creative flair lands on the big screen. Wednesday 19 Novemberat 9.15 pm, the Ariosto Anteo spazioCinema in Milan will host the national preview of “Björk: Cornucopia Live”, the concert film that tells the story of the Icelandic singer-songwriter’s visionary tour of the same name. Before the screening, a meeting with the music journalist is scheduled Thomas Thomas and with the NABA teacher Gloria Maria CappellettiEditor in Chief & Creative Director of RED-EYE Metazine.
Directed by Ísold Uggadóttir, “Cornucopia” represents Björk’s most ambitious live production to date: a fusion of nature, technology and sound, where the artist is also responsible for the creative directionmusical arrangements and production. The co-creative visual direction is entrusted to James Merry, with the additional contribution of a large lineup of artists: Andrew Thomas Huang, Gabríela Friðriksdóttir, Pierre-Alain Giraud, Nick Knight, Tobias Gremmler, Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton-Jones. Their works merge with Björk’s avant-garde soundscapes, who is enthusiastic about the project:
I’m really excited to share my concert film Cornucopia with you. It’s been a long journey, thanks to the help of hundreds of people. I am immensely grateful to each of them. I believe the modern concert film is a matriarchal structure, welcome in the current climate, where female musicians can share their world without being corrupted.
