Billie Joe Armstrong calls Courtney Love on stage

In concert last night at The Garage in London i Coverups – the band of the frontman of Green Day Billie Joe Armstrong with whom he enjoys playing covers – welcomed on stage Courtney Lovewere also present in the audience Glen Matlock of Sex Pistols and Blondie’s Clem Burke.

“How are you guys?” Billie Joe made his stage debut. “We are Coverups, we play covers. This is the kind of thing we do at home. We’re just friends finding each other and hanging out, and it’s just a karaoke celebration.”

In the second part of the concert Armstrong welcomed the former Mrs. Cobain on stage with these words: “Ladies and gentlemen, Courtney Love”. The 59-year-old blonde replied: “Thank you, Billie Joe. My name is Courtney Love, you might not remember me. I’ve been living in a cave in Birmingham for about nine years. We’ll fucking try, right?”. She and the band proposed a song by
Cheap Tricks
followed by a song by
Tom Petty

. The American rocker would then return at the end of the concert for another song by
