About
“Wonderful World”
Hart said: “This song was written for and about my beautiful granddaughter. As time has gone on, I’ve realized that it’s really written for the lineage of the women in my family. All the way down the line; my great-grandmother, my grandmother, my mom, my sisters, my granddaughter and her daughter. So it’s the lineage and how imperative it is for me to see it, and what a gift to finally see it.”
Of her writing process, Beth, 52, said: “It’s always for the joy of writing or the challenge of writing, to find out what’s going on. Sometimes when I’m sad or scared, I sit at the piano. Sometimes a song comes, sometimes not. Either way, I find comfort.” Of the message in her songs, she says: “I let the listener decide. Personally, I know what it’s for in the moment. One of the great things I love about songs and albums is that over time the meaning changes. I like to keep it open because there’s a lot I can learn from that.”
