Beatles in Italy, 1965-2025: two exhibitions, in Naples and Milan
On sixty years precisely precisely from the coming of the Beatles – the only one in the group’s career – in Italy for a short series of concerts (two in Milan on June 24, two in Genoa on June 26, four in Rome – two on 27 and two on June 28). In the anniversary, we point out two exhibitions dedicated to the visit to Italy of the Beatles (in the photo of the article the cover of “The Beatles Italian Tour”, the most exhaustive of the books dedicated to the Italian Beates tour, written by Luigi Luppola and Alberto Duzzi, published by Rabbit Editore; the book is currently out of the catalog, but it is possible to order it by writing to writing to [email protected]).
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Italian Tour of the Beatles, the Official Beatles Fan Club Pepperland will set up a large themed exhibition at the Monumental Complex of San Severo on the Pendino located in via Duomo in Naples. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Naples. The inauguration will take place on 23 June at 11.00 and the exhibition will be accessible until June 28 with hours 9/19. Admission is free.
The exhibition will be divided into two exhibition paths accompanied by special cards explanatory.
The first collects numerous rarities, made available by collectors voluntary members of the fan club, such as the original tickets of the concerts, some posters and numerous photographs. The selected objects propose the most significant moments of the Italian tour of the Liverpool quartet in Milan, Genoa and Rome.
The second course includes a series of photos taken by a fan who over the years 1968/1972 stationed daily, together with other peers, in front of the building The Apple site located in Savile Row and the EMI studios in Abbey Road in London. These Girls were called by the Beatles themselves “Apple Scruffs” (it is also the title of a song by George Harrison from his triple “All Things Must Pass”).
This part of the exhibition is titled “In the Fog and in the Rain”, a phrase taken from Harrison’s song, in memory of the fans who, regardless of the fog and rain typical of the London atmosphere, they waited for the whole day their idols. The collection, which also has a historical finding value of the 60s, is consisting of “Polaroid” instantaneous photographs absolutely unpublished and in perfect condition of conservation.
In the corollary of the exhibition, on 24 and 28 June from 17 to 19, they will have two conferences accompanied by the projection of some videos. The president of the fan Club Luigi Luppola, author of the book “The Beatles Italian Tour”, will describe moments salient of the tour with some anecdotes.
For the occasion, a souvenir plaque will be delivered to Peppino di Capri for his Participation in that historic tour. Two concerts will follow at the conferences. Yes they will exhibit the Neapolitan group Beat Flowers, specialized in reproducing the repertoire of the Beatles, and the artist Bruno Panuzzo, representative of the fan club for the Calabria, who will play some songs by Peppino di Capri.
For these two appointments, the entrance will only be invitations.

The Gallerie d’Italia – Milan host, from 24 June to 7 September 2025, the exhibition “All crazy for the Beatles. The 1965 concert in Milan in the photographs of publication”, with a selection of photographs by the historic archive Intesa Sanpaolo.
There are over 500 photographs that the Publifoto photojournalistic agency produced on 23 and 24 June 1965. On June 23, upon arrival at the group’s central station, Tino Petrelli portrayed the four all together on an Alfa Romeo Spider. Publifoto put 7 of his photographers on the pitch to document the event: Sergio Borsotti, Sergio Cossu, Gianfranco Ferrario, Carlo Fumagalli, Benito Marino, Eugenio Pavone and the aforementioned Tino Petrelli.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of those events, 62 enlargements of negatives taken from the publifoto archive will be exhibited at the Ottagono d’Italia Gallerie in Italy. On the occasion of the exhibition, all over 500 photographs relating to the event will be restored, digitized, cataloged and open online to public use by the Historical Archive Intesa Sanpaolo.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the historic Beatles concert in Milan, Novensemble orchestra He will propose a unique evening in homage to the legendary career of the Liverpool band.
