A documentary on Swedish DJ and producer Avicii is on the way

Avicii: unreleased videos from the new Netflix documentary

“Avicii – I’m Tim” is the title of the new documentary on the life of the Swedish DJ and producer who passed away at the age of 28 in 2018. On the occasion of the arrival of the film on Netfix, where it is available from today 31 December, new unreleased footage. The clip with never-before-seen images sees Avicii, born Tim Bergling, at work in the studio.

“When I decided that he would be the one to tell this story, I thought maybe this was the way I could be close to him,” the documentary’s director Henrik Burman told the US edition of “Billboard”: “Maybe this is how I can meet him again.”

“There were times between interviews where he would say, ‘This really describes me as a person, so if there’s ever a documentary made about me, you should use that to tell the story,’” Burman added of the footage material d archive: “He was like, ‘If we’re going to make a documentary, we have to talk about alcohol; we need to talk about the bad things in my life.’ I looked for clues like this: I listened to Tim for hours and hours trying to understand him and put the pieces together about who he was as a person and who Avicii was as an artist.”
