Arctic Monkeys: listen to new song “Opening Night”

After four years of recording silence, Arctic Monkeys return to make themselves heard with “Opening Night”an unreleased song that marks their return to the scene and anticipates “HELP(2)”an ambitious charity compilation curated by War Child UK. It’s about the first new release from the British band since 2022the year of “The Car”, and the official opening of a choral project that brings together some of the most significant voices of the contemporary musical panorama.

Designed as an ideal sequel to “HELP” (1995)the new chapter of the initiative relaunches the original spirit of the project: music recorded quicklya leading cast and a clear and urgent objective, that of support children affected by armed conflicts. As happened thirty years ago, the recording sessions took place in Abbey Road Studioswith James Ford in the role of producer. All the material has been engraved in the space of just one weekin November 2025, following a logic of urgency and creative spontaneity. The release of “HELP(2)” is scheduled for March 6with i pre-orders already available.

Alongside “Opening Night”, the compilation alternates unpublished works and reinterpretations of great importance. Olivia Rodrigo signs a personal rereading of “The Book of Love” by Magnetic Fieldswhile i Fontaines DC compare themselves to “Black Boys on Mopeds” by Sinéad O’Connor. The rest of the tracklist confirms the breadth and ambition of the project, lining up a parterre that includes, among others, Depeche Mode, Pulp, Beth Gibbons, Beck, Sampha, Big Thief, Wet Leg, King Krule, Foals, Arlo Parks And The Last Dinner Party.
