An album is released to raise funds for Jesse Malin

About one year ago Jesse Malin it remained paralyzed from the waist down due to a spinal stroke. To help him with medical bills and rehabilitation, some of his colleagues recorded his songs for a tribute album titled “SilverPatron Saints: The Songs of Jesse Malin”which will be released on September 20th.

Among the artists featured on the triple vinyl album are Bruce Springsteen, Billie Joe Armstrong of the Green Day, Bleachers, Lucinda Williams and Elvis Costello, Rancid, Hold Steady, Tommy Stinson,

Counting Crows, Dinosaur Jr., Wallflowers, Spoon, Susanna Hoffs, Frank Turner And Alison Mosshart with Tom Morello And Wayne Kramerwho passed away last February 2nd.

The songs are taken from Malin's solo material and his recordings as the frontman of the New York punk band DGeneration. Below you can listen to the version Bleachers Of “Prisoners of Paradise” from the solo album by JesseMalin of 2007, “Glitter in the Gutter”.

“As always in my songs, the themes are all there: transcendence, positivity and global unity through music,” Malin said. “This is what I love to do and I will do everything I can to continue to do it.”

As for rehab, Malin told Rolling Stone magazine last December: “I'm getting some strength back in my legs, but it's moving a lot slower than I'd like. I don't want to portray myself as if I were ready to do James Brown splits on stage. I definitely have a long way to go, but I'm lucky and very grateful for the amazing fans and friends I have.”
